30 Days of Thanks: Day 17, Part 2

Today’s first post was being thankful for Christmas. I wrote that post several days ago and had it queued up and ready to post this morning. In the post I mentioned how we didn’t have any Christmas decorations up, etc. Well, that all changed today. Today, in honor of Mariana’s precious friend Bea, we have put up a pink “Sweet Bea Tree.”

Bea is an amazing little girl who is currently in hospice care after a brave battle against a rare brain cancer. Her mom posted on their blog today that it’s not too early for Christmas. She posted an encouragement to put up something Christmas in homes in honor of Bea. (Read the post here.) Since Bea is a sweet friend to our Mariana, we definitely wanted to honor this request. So, we picked out a cute pink tree with a cupcake tree skirt and colorful ornaments. Mariana did most of the decorating and is very proud of the Sweet Bea Tree.  There is also a framed photo of Bea with Mariana near the tree now. (The photo in the frame was taken just over one month ago when the girls had  a play date.)  This tree and photo have a place honor in our family room and will remain up through the entire holiday season.

The word about the Christmas request has gotten out via the blog and Facebook and, I just have to say, it blesses my heart to see decorations and such being put up for Bea. Many who haven’t even met this amazing little girl have been touched by her story and want to offer their support. How awesome! So, if you read this blog, I’m encouraging all readers to put out something for Christmas in honor of Bea and her family. Bea’s mom recently told me how much Bea loves Christmas and this gesture is a way to show support to a brave little hero and her wonderful family.  Please also remember to keep Bea and her family in your prayers and thoughts, as well.

Merry Christmas, Sweet Bea and Family. You are loved and prayed for all over the world!
