A friend of mine recently relocated to the West Coast from Newtown, CT. She shared some links for ways to help on her Facebook, so I wanted to compile them here for those that are interested.
- Newtown Patch has a recent article on their website called “How You Can Help: Memorial Donations For Sandy Hook Victims.” This article has a list of the charitable contributions identified by some of the victims’ families.
- The “My Sandy Hook Family Fund” has been established by local Sandy Hook, CT parents and friends dedicated to providing immediate and continuing support for the 26 families of those who lost children and loved ones in the Sandy Hook School tragedy. No amount is too small, so if you feel lead to donate, please give what you can.
- One more and this one only costs a stamp. For those that have asked to support us in a constructive way Snowflakes for Sandy Hook is being sponsored by the Newtown and CT PTA/PTSA. Please help the students of Sandy Hook have a winter wonderland at their new school! Get Creative!! No two snowflakes are alike. Make and send snowflakes to Connecticut PTSA, 60 Connolly Parkway, Building 12, Suite 103, Hamden, CT 06514, by January 12, 2013. (Click here for more information on the National PTA site.)
I know that many are hurting and grieving for those affected by this horrible tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary. I, for one, want some way or ways to help – just some way to reach out and do SOMETHING. I figure that others would like to help to, so that’s why I posted the links here on my blog.
Continuing to pray for those who lost their precious loved ones. May the God of peace envelop and sustain them all.
