- Good morning and HAPPY ST. PADDY’S DAY!
- Macey wore her green to school very proudly today. Well, she was somewhat disappointed that she wasn’t dressed head to toe in green, to be honest. She has on a green long-sleeved tee which I thought was perfect, but she wanted green pants too. Go figure. 😉
- Spring weather is supposed to return to us today. We’re looking for mid-60s for the high. I can definitely appreciate that!
- I made Rachael Ray’s Chicken, Biscuits’n’Gravy Casserole for dinner last night. It was my second time making it and it was great once again. So easy to make and yummy too!
- Mickey brought home a new book for me yesterday. What a sweetheart! I sent him a list of books I’d like and he went to our church bookstore and got one to surprise me. He brought home Take One, Above The Line Series #1 by Karen Kingsbury, so that’s what I am reading now. Kingsbury is always great to read!
- I’m not sure whether to whisper this cautiously or shout it from the rooftops, but Mariana is doing SO well with her potty-training. She is quite proud of herself too!! (Won’t say more because it’s early in the process yet.)
- I’m excited to watch Biggest Loser: Couples tonight! Maybe that will help me regain some motivation. Lately I have just not been into working out and I need to get my movitation back on track. I think maybe I need another DVD or two so that I can work through a rotation and not get bored. Ideally, I’d like to join the YMCA as a family so we could work out there, so maybe that can happen soon.
- Our play room is well on its way to being more organized. I had a wonderful organization consultant over here yesterday and we worked hard to get the play room in better shape. I am waiting on her to give us a quote to put in shelving units with drawers into the closet so that we can keep it organized down there. It felt good to purge some excess yesterday. Now, if only I could do that all around the house. Hmmm…?!?!?
- I am photographing a wedding reception on Saturday and I am SO excited about that!
- I’m off to get ready to face the day. Hope to get lots more done around the house. I guess I’m “spring cleaning” in steps. LOL!
- Have a great day!

Need…coffee…NOW!
Ugh. Woke up with a headache this morning. Not a full blown headache, but just enough of one to take a little bit out of me today. The weather is changing again, so the barometric pressure is doing a number on my sinuses. Fun times. Blurgh. Once again I suppose I should not complain because, after all, this IS March and it’s not even officially spring yet, but that run of beautiful days we just had spoiled me and I am SOOO ready for spring to get here. I have to say that it is encouraging to hear the birds singing outside our windows this morning. They are so happy. Or, at least they seem that way. That’s always nice to hear.
Macey has school pictures tomorrow and as of right now, I have no clue what she’s going to wear for them. I had chosen a blue top for her to wear, but it has short sleeves and tomorrow is only supposed to be in the 40s. (80s early week, 40s late week = crazy) So, I have to figure this out today. No matter what she wears, she’ll be gorgeous, of course. She’s really excited about her pictures. They get to select a pose and she has chosen a seated one, so we’ve been practicing it. TOO cute!!
My Lenten sacrifice of Facebook (etc) is going well. I miss it and I miss keeping in touch, but it has really gone well so far. I have signed on VERY briefly both Sundays just to add friends that I have requests from and also write down birthdays. I make sure that if I am on there on Sundays, it is only for VERY specific purposes and only for a few short amount of time. That is working out well.
I’m ready for my coffee now. So, I’m outta here. Have a wonderful day!
Yawning & Stretching…
{{{YAWN}}}
I am so sleepy this morning. Even after a cup and a half of coffee, I still feel like I have weights on my eyelids. I just want to curl back up in bed and sleep some more. Is that asking so much, really? The answer is YES, it’s too much to ask. Especially since Miss Mariana is up and at ’em this morning. Of course, it was Miss Mariana that was awake and crying at 3:45 this morning too. And, it was Mariana that then kept me awake with her tossing and turning until well after 5 this morning too. So, of course, it was  HER that got to sleep in a bit this morning and not me. Hmph. Some kids!! 😉  She seems to feel fine this morning, but I’m keeping her home from preschool because I’m not sure she’d last the whole day without becoming tired and cranky anyway. I am seriously pondering taking her nap with her today. Right about now that seems heavenly, but light years away.Â
Who else is watching The Biggest Loser with me this season? It’s another great one. I just love that show! Of course, I could do without the very obvious product endorsements and I could certainly do without the BLEEPING language, but it’s still a very good show to me. I won’t say anything too specific about last night’s episode because I don’t want to reveal any spoilers for those who haven’t had a chance to watch it yet. I will say that I thought that sisters Aubrey and Mandi showed SO much strength last night. Strength of body, character and spirit. I’m also wondering why Kristin had immunity? Need to do some investigation into that one, I guess.
Guess I should get this day started. Or, at least get up and move a little bit.
Happy Wednesday,
Kelly
Awake My Soul and Sing…
Today is a beautiful BEAUTIFUL day. It’s one of those days when my soul feels happily full and absolutely alive. Â I just love these early spring days. The temperature today is in the high 70s, the sun is shining, flowers and trees have blossoms and blooms, the birds are singing – it’s positively glorious. I just want to soak it all up. Ahhhhhhh!!
I have enjoyed today so far, in case that wasn’t obvious. I even felt energized enough to go ahead and do my Biggest Loser Boot Camp work-out. I did levels one and two. WHEW!! Y’all, that was such a work-out. I was sweating after level one and dripping after level two. I even did the modifications on most of the level two exercises and it still worked me to pieces. All I cay say is that I am GLAD to be done and PROUD of myself for getting it done.
I did a little bit of shopping today too. I found some CUTE little transitional outfits for both girls. TJ Maxx and Marshall’s have some adorable capri sets (or similar) that are nice quality without breaking the bank. So, the girls are thrilled to have cute new outfits. Now, granted, this week is going to warm up a little bit more and then turn cool again, but at least we’re better prepared for the warmer days now. Spring is on the way. Yahoo!!
I promised the girls we’d go outside to play. So, I’m going to wrap up this blog entry and head out to enjoy more of this amazing day!
Blessings,
Kelly
Bring On Spring
I have an extra pep in my step this morning. Maybe it’s because I worked out last night and then actually got to bed on time. But, maybe it’s because we’re getting ready to get some springlike weather in the next few days. Today, it’s supposed to get up to 65 here. By Sunday it’s supposed to get up to 75. Glorious! I love spring. I love the warmer days, the blooming trees, the flowers – all of it. It’s such a great time of year. (We won’t mention the one down side – pollen.) I am already looking forward to getting outside this weekend. We can work in our yards, get some fresh air and just enjoy it. I cannot wait!!
As I mentioned yesterday, our cat Dasher got “fixed.” I am happy to report that he is doing great. He was pretty groggy when he came home, but he is rebounding nicely. He’s still not his usual dashing self, but he is moving about and he’s also holding down food and water. Yay!! I bet by tomorrow he’ll be at full tilt again. We’ll see. Here’s another picture of the handsome little fella:
Mariana and I are working a bit on potty-training today. Nothing too strenous, but just working with her interest level. Right now I have a timer set to go off every 15 minutes so that I can ask her if she needs to go and/or take her to the potty for her to try. At this rate, I may have her training to go whenever an alarm goes off. Pavlov anyone?! 😉Â
Guess what I did yesterday?! I dressed up like Clifford the Big Red Dog at preschool. Yes, I really did. I donned a big heavy costume and waved to the children coming in from the car pool line. I also visited some of the classes. I did this to promote the book fair.  It was actually quite fun. I will say, however, that I have  a new found respect for mascots. Not only are those outfits heavy and hot, but it’s also quite difficult to see when wearing one. Still, I enjoyed it because of the happiness that most of the kids got from seeing Clifford. It was really cool to visit Mariana’s class and watch her reaction without her knowing it was me.
Mickey and I have a date night planned for tomorrow night. I am so excited! We’re thinking a classic date of dinner and a movie would be nice. Any movie suggestions?
Well, the timer is about to go off again. That’s my cue to close it up for now. Besides, I really REALLY need to whip this house into shape. I should get back on the Motivated Moms system again…STAT!
Happy Thursday,
KellyÂ
